Subjects Taught
4th Grade

I am a graduate of the University of South Alabama, where I received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Elementary Education. These degrees certify me to teach grades K-6. I am also "highly qualified" in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act.

I have been teaching at Fonde Elementary for sixteen years. This is my third year teaching fourth grade. Before teaching fourth grade, I taught third grade for thirteen years.

In the past, I served as the SECME Coordinator at Fonde Elementary for grades 3-5 for three years and the EYE Club Coordinator for one year.

I absolutely enjoy working with children and teaching. My goal as a teacher is to help students grow to have a love for learning and to be successful in life. Teaching involves helping students grow socially, emotionally, academically, and physically. I believe different students learn in different ways and at different rates, but ALL students CAN learn.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy going to the beach and spending time with my family and friends.  I also serve as a board member for Save a Stray, a local non-profit humane organization. I am happily married to a wonderful man named Donnie Carter, and we have two spoiled rotten furbabies!
